Finally after much looking on the internet we get to go to Mt Pilatus. Firstly we went by bus to the base, then caught the small 4 person cable car two stages up the mountain, then went by a large cable car to the top. After a wonderful Swiss lunch David climbed to the to the top but was a bit apprehensive as the steps were uneven & the railings loose. Frida & I wandered around watching the hang gliders take off & just enjoying the spectacular views. The pictures do not do the mountain justice as everything is much more awesome in the flesh.
We descended the mountain by the 100 year old cogwheel train that is the steepest in the world 48 degree gradient, the 40 minute trip just breathtaking. To top the day off we had a lovely hour trip by boat back to Lucerne, the lake is huge with lots of resorts up in the mountains we actually saw the resort where Audrey Hepburn was married and I can now understand why she chose to live in Switzerland as it is much more beautiful than any picture can depict. Would love to come back & see it when snowing !!!!!
